FOOLISH MORTALS R2 TEST DRIVE MEME

Hello again, you foolish mortals. Since we are not having a mock trial for R2, we decided to have another test drive to help ring in the occasion!  Especially since many of you have multiple options for the upcoming rounds.  Much like last time, this test drive will remain open until the game itself opens in October.

Foolish Mortals is, of course, open to Disney characters only - and the same rules apply here. Characters who don't fit this criteria may find themselves being removed from the test drive, for consistency purposes. If you have any questions, please feel free to consult our FAQ here. Please list your character's name (canon also recommended) in the header of your top-level prompt.

Here are some examples to get you started:

1 - Waking Up
You find yourself awoken in a dreary little bed that creaks and squeaks far too much for your liking. The room is run-down and decrepit, and cobwebs practically coat the particularly tacky wallpaper. It's...unnerving, to say the least, and you should probably get out of there. Sadly, it doesn't look like the rest of the hotel is any cleaner, but...perhaps you'll find others in similar circumstances?

2 - Killing Time
If we must kill something, it might as well be your boredom. It doesn't seem, however, that the hotel has quite a lot to offer in the way of entertainment. There's an old projector with creepy early-to-mid-century movies, a bar, a (rather eerie) library, a steam room, and a treasure room.  Something feels... off about the last room, however, like you're being watched.

3 - Happy Haunts
There's...stillness in the air. Occasionally, you might notice some sort of unexplainable oddity. A piano might begin to play itself in your presence, or dishes and silverware might reaarange themselves when you're not looking. The eyes on portraits might even follow you around, until you notice them. Perhaps it's worth investigation, or perhaps you're better off just screaming and running away. Your call.

4 - Party!
The Hollywood Tower Hotel, before its sudden closure, was famous for its parties.  So perhaps it's unsurprising that everyone is called to the Tip Top Club for a mandatory party...on Thursday night. You should throw on your best formal attire, and try to have a good time. It should be mentioned, of course, that the motive this week appears to be getting on everyone's nerves. It doesn't really help matters that it'd be so easy to take someone out if you just flipped the lights off...have fun. 

5 - Body Discovery
Despite your best efforts, someone has died on this fateful Friday.  While no one was especially close to him, it appears that Cinderella's father is dead, and one of you is responsible. Better investigate the mansion for clues, and hope you don't mess this up...

6 - Et Cetera, Et Cetera, Et Cetera
For all the prompts you want to do but we haven't listed.

Keep in mind that posting in the test drive does not represent a commitment to join our game. You're welcome to play here even if you can't app. Playing here does not guarantee a slot in the game, nor does it count as a reserve. However, you're welcome to use up to 20 comments here from your character on the test drive should you app them later, in lieu of a sample.

[While Oswald isn't exactly the most normal 'person' to be investigating this mess, it's still definitely phasing him.]

[With some considerable effort, he manages to roll the body of Cinderella's father over, revealing... the knife embedded in his chest.]

Extremely. Utterly disgusting, to think someone could do this.

[On the tiles, no less. Their hosts might be appalling cleaners but there's no need to worsen the problem.]

[Say nothing of Oswald, besides the fact that he's a hard worker.]

Really showing off those acting chops, aren't ya?

[Not that he really cares, but... oh, ew, ew. Okay. He just has to. Pull this knife, out of this man. He's an adult, he can do this. Just have to... put... his back into it...]

[He glowers, in spite of himself.]

Why on Earth would I lie? Apologies if I don't know how to react to a corpse.

[This is more emotion than he's used to showing but. Well. Stressful times.

He looks away in disgust.] There must be a better way to handle this.

[Oswald just continues on his task, tugging until the knife works it's way out. It's one of the knives from the kitchen; albeit, it's a butter knife.

He stares at the dripping blade just long enough to almost drop it.]

Yeesh! Whoever did this really wanted to get the job done.

[Just... holding that out at arms length. Eww.] Unless...

For god's sake man, at least find a hankerchief for the damned thing. You're fingerprints are probably all over it now.

[Seeing a corpse and a bloody knife is weird this up close. It was usually something Preston handled from a safe distance.]

Seems like a rather ineffective weapon to me. We have steak knives about.

You're right. It is.

[He carefully turns to Preston, staring down at the knife gingerly held in his hand.]

This isn't the knife that made that wound.
